Chasin' waterfalls
Everyone loves new experiences, and the Whiteface Region is perhaps the best place to find something new to do this summer! Check out the tumbling natural history of the Ausable River at High Falls Gorge, try some locally made cheese, meet Santa, or step into history in Jay!
High Falls Gorge is a breathtaking adventure. Sturdy bridges, glass floor walkways, and groomed paths and hiking trail lead you over and around the tumbling waters of the Ausable River, where you'll have awesome views of many waterfalls. In fact, there are four waterfall cascading over rocks into a deep crevices carved a billion years ago. Each one is better than the last. These incredible sights are not just for the extremely fit: some bridges and walkways are accessible to all. The entire family, no matter ability, can soak in the cool, refreshing, misty air at High Falls Gorge!
The other North Pole
For some fairy tale fun, visit Santa's Workshop! A trip to the Whiteface Region wouldn't be complete without a visit to the timeless fantasy village located in the North Pole, NY. Open June through December, Santa's Workshop has been a family tradition since 1949; it's the oldest theme park in the United States. Home to beloved fairy tale and storybook characters, busy elves, live reindeer, and Santa himself, the North Pole experience is one you won't soon forget.
Jay Covered Bridge
The Covered Bridge in Jay is the last one standing in New York State! The scenic location and rich history make it a really interesting stop the entire family will enjoy. Views of fall foliage are great here, plus there's excellent swimming in the summer months.
Fish our waterways
For some, the region's best attraction is fishing. Don't miss some of the best fly fishing in North America on the West Branch of the Ausable River.
