A Challenge Awaits!

The Whiteface Uphill Bike Race will be Saturday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m. Climb 3,500 feet over 8 miles up the scenic Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway to the top of New York’s 5th highest peak for a 360° panoramic view of the Adirondacks, New England and Canada. Race Details

  • The race starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Visitors Bureau, 5753 NYS RT 86 Wilmington NY.
  • Packet pick-up is available Friday, June 6 from 4-6:00 p.m. and on race day, Saturday, June 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Whiteface Visitors Bureau (5753 NY-86, Wilmington).
  • Packet will include your bib, t-shirt and $15 local dining coupon.
  • There will be a bag drop vehicle at the starting line if you desire a change of clothes for the top. Please make sure you have your name and phone number on or in the bag.
  • We use a timing mat and do a rolling start instead of a mass start. You will get a timing chip with your bib.
  • If you don’t feel comfortable riding your bike back down, you may have someone meet you at the top. We will sell spectator passes for $12 at registration. These are cash only and a per person price.

If you like a challenge, this is the course for you. This USATF certified course covers 8 miles over an 8 percent grade up Whiteface Mountain's scenic Veterans' Memorial Highway.

  • Overflow: Across from Preston Field (2 Cunningham Lane)
  • Extra: Around the Park Road circle
  • Please do not park on Park Road or at Fratelli’s Pizza

Uphill Bike Race Rules

  • Helmets are required.
  • Each participant is responsible for their own transportation down the mountain at the close of the race. Riding back down is at your own risk, following pacing marshals. A minimum of two brakes is required.
  • Bug repellent and warm clothing for the summit are recommended.
  • Self-service water stations will be provided along the route. Snacks and beverages will be available at the finish line. A $15 dining coupon for local restaurants is provided to all racers for after the race. This is included in the race fee.
