Open sky, covered bridge!

From music playing in the park to kids playing in the water, Jay welcomes you to experience the peace and quiet of a quaint mountain town - mixed with the fun of themed festivals, music, and food events throughout the seasons.

The covered bridge in Jay, NY is one of the most historic must-see spots in the eastern Adirondacks. Take a stroll across its echoing walkway, and find yourself on the shores of the Ausable River. Visitors of all ages will enjoy a picnic on the green after working up an appetite with a dip in a fresh, mountain swimming hole.

Home to JEMS (Jay Entertainment and Music Society), Jay boasts a thriving arts community. The mountains inspire, and here, the talent shines. Take in a show at the JEMS Amos & Julia Ward Theatre, or listen to a concert on the village green. The Jay Craft Center is home to an in-house gallery and pottery studio, and showcases work from local artists. You can also visit one of several home-based galleries scattered throughout the community, like Young's Studio and Pondside Studio

While the water runs swiftly, the feel here is relaxed. Outdoor enthusiasts will find opportunities to fish, cycle, hike, bike, and climb in the warm weather. Minutes from Whiteface Mountain, the variety of activities during winter in Jay  - from sledding, snowshoeing, and ice skating to skiing and riding at Whiteface Mountain, are abundant!
