About

In time for the 250th anniversary of the world-changing American Revolution, local researcher and historian Don Wickman will speak on “The American Revolution in the Champlain Valley 1775-1783” on Monday, June 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Au Sable Forks Free Library, 9 Church Lane in Au Sable Forks. The talk is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted. The Champlain Valley served as a vital theater in the American Revolution. From the capture of Fort Ticonderoga to the end of the war with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783, the Champlain Valley and the surrounding region were traversed by military forces from both sides of the conflict.

Wickman, previously the director of the Kent-Delord House Museum in Plattsburgh, has researched and written extensively about regional history.

We're very proud to have Don as the newly-formed Two Branches Heritage Society's inaugural speaker. Join us for this fascinating talk!
