Plein Air Exhibition: Open Call for Artists

Inaugural open call art exhibition inviting artists to submit artwork featuring the Ausable River, specifically the Jay Rapids and/or the Jay Covered Bridge in Jay, NY. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

• Exhibition location: ARVBA Welcome Center, Au Sable Forks

• Exhibition dates: September 5–October 11, 2026

• Hours: During Visitor Center open hours:

  • Wednesdays: 9am – 1pm

  • Thursdays: 12pm – 5pm

  • Fridays: 10am – 5pm

  • Saturdays: 9am – 1pm

Submission Details:

The submission deadline has passed.

• Required subject: Ausable River at the Jay Rapids / Covered Bridge, Jay, NY

• Eligible mediums: All mediums except photography

• Recent work preferred, not mandatory

• Submission: One image per artist

• Judging: By digital image submission

• Juror: Jason Andrew, Independent Curator (IG: @jandrewarts)

• Prizes: $75 first place / $50 second place / $35 third place
