Summer Concerts on the Jay Village Green
Summer Concerts on the Jay Village Green opens with Ithaca-based alt-country/rural rock/roots band, FREIGHT!
About Freight
Armed with the art-rock inclinations of Wilco, the roots swagger of Sturgill Simpson, and the songcraft of Jason Isbell, Freight is carving out a unique place on festival stages, offering both intimate storytelling and full-throttle live performances. With soaring pedal steel, syncopated acoustic guitars, and explosive choruses, Freight brings a sound that resonates with both Americana purists and new audiences alike.
Pack a picnic dinner, gather your family and friends, and enjoy a season of live outdoor music by the gazebo at the beautiful Historic Jay Village Green!
About Summer Concerts on the Jay Village Green
Join us this summer for relaxing evenings filled with great music, community spirit, and the charm of Jay’s summer nights. Concerts are held outdoors on the Village Green, where you can spread out on the lawn, enjoy picnic tables, or settle into Adirondack chairs for an unforgettable experience under the open sky.
Rain or Shine
RAIN OR SHINE! In the event of rain, performances move indoors to the historic Amos & Julia Ward Theater at the same location.
Refreshments
Refreshments will be available from the volunteer-run Jay Entertainment & Music Society (JEMS), with donations gratefully accepted to support the ongoing maintenance and preservation of the AMOS & JULIA WARD THEATRE.
Concerts are presented by JEMS in collaboration with the Town of Jay.
