Local's Guide to WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series

October 3–5, 2025

The 2025 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series is just around the corner! Here's everything you need to know to enjoy this epic event to the fullest.

This year, Lake Placid will host three World Cup competitions: Cross Country World Cup (XCO), Short Track World Cup (XCC), and—new this year—Downhill World Cup (DHI). Cross Country and Short Track races will take place at Mt Van Hoevenberg, with Downhill racing taking place at Whiteface Mountain.

Spectating is available along the courses, so you'll be in the heart of the action! Whether you're an avid mountain bike fan or you're just curious about the event, this is a spectacle you don't want to miss.

Tips for Spectators

  • This is an event you can take part in for free! Friday tickets are free for both venues, and 2025/26 Season Passholders can get in free every day!
  • Spectating along the course means walking the course, which follows uneven terrain over open ground and through the woods. Dress appropriately and wear sturdy footwear.
  • Don't miss the vendor villages at Whiteface on Saturday and Mt Van Hoevenberg on Sunday. With food, drinks, big name brands, and local businesses, there will be high energy, entertainment, and lots to explore.
  • Parking onsite is limited at both venues. Consider carpooling or taking a shuttle. Information on free shuttles is available below.
  • The athletes need to stretch their legs and keep their muscles warm, so you may see them out riding the local roads. Be kind and help us show these visitors a warm welcome by sharing the road safely.
