Windows on Whiteface is a renovated c. 1900 home with four bedrooms, two baths (one with Jacuzzi jets) and a view of Whiteface, which is just over a mile away. It sleeps 9, with room for 10 with the futon or rollaway bed. With modern conveniences – WiFi, HBO, dishwasher, washer-dryer – and country charm – an old-fashioned dining room that seats 10; cozy Adirondack living room with a gas fireplace with remote; and view of woods, a large yard, brook in winter and small pond in summer. We're kid- and pet-friendly.

Windows on Whiteface is convenient: you're so close to the ski center you can come home for lunch. The parking area fits four cars and is plowed promptly. A caretaker and housekeeper live nearby if you need anything. We've been renting to skiers and hikers for 10 years.
There are great restaurants nearby in Wilmington, or drive to Lake Placid, a nine-mile drive along the AuSable. Visit the Olympic high ski jumps, ice skating and hockey rinks, and museum with memorabilia from the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Head to Mt. Van Hoevenburg to ride the bobsled and skeleton, or ski the Olympic cross country trails. With a three-day Whiteface lift ticket, you get a free Winter Passport to visit the Olympic sites at a discount, with some exceptions. Visit Lake Placid to shop the outlets, go to the brew pubs and movies, then come home to Wilmington to enjoy the quiet and be first on the mountain to ski.
