Winter has never been better

Winter in the Whiteface Region is a sight to behold. And it's all right outside your door, in the midst of some of New York's coolest wild lands! From natural ice sculptures formed by the Ausable River to snow-capped peaks towering over the quiet valleys, the landscape transforms to a snowglobe. There are miles of peaceful trails fit for any outdoor activity, shops and restaurants with gifts and food to keep you warm, and even a world-famous ski center. No one does winter like the Whiteface Region.

Trails for everything!

So, you're into snowshoeing, right? Good news! We have a trail for that! We also have perfect trails for cross-country skiing, fat-tire biking, and snowmobiling. You'll probably want to spend a few days exploring, which won't be a problem because there are plenty of places to stay and plenty of places to adventure! There are even some of the finest ice climbing routes around in the area. There is no shortage of cool things to do to heat up your winter.

First-class skiing and riding

You've probably heard of Whiteface Mountain. Not only is it the biggest vertical drop of any ski center in the East, it was also home to the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, and many other national and international sporting events. Don't pass up an opportunity to ski with Olympians or ride over 20-miles of trails! There is plenty of beginner terrain and steep thrills for experts, and lots in between. In fact, we promise you'll have such a good time here that you won't even want to stop for a lunch break! Please note: At this time, Whiteface Mountain is only selling tickets online in advance. Lift tickets are available in limited quantities, so buy as early as possible. Pro tip: mid-week is generally less busy than weekends and holidays.
