About

This growing system of multi-use, non-motorized trails funded and built by Barkeater Trails Alliance (BETA), is a beginner-friendly mountain biking option in the Town of Keene that opened in 2022. It's multi-use nature allows it to be multi-season, with opportunities to snowshoe and cross-country ski the paths in the winter months.

How to get there

The parking area is 3.5 miles north of Keene, on the east side of Route 9N, and 2.5 miles south of Upper Jay.

Mountain biking

There are three main trails as of 2022: Leepoff Loop, Climbing Trail, and Short Loop. The Climbing Trail features a roughly 350 foot ascent/descent, and the lower Leepoff Loop is perfect for beginner mountain bikers. Check out the trail system map on Trailforks

Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing

Parking is possible during the winter months, and the trails are ungroomed. Locals have started to utilize these trails, so it isn't uncommon to have a broken out snowshoe path or a ski track set by someone else.
