WILMINGTON, N.Y. - Fiery reds and oranges of fall in the Adirondacks will be complemented by Fire on the Mountain Chili Challenge at the 13th Annual Festival of the Colors at the Festival Field on Springfield Road in Wilmington from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The Whiteface Mountain Regional Visitors Bureau invites all to celebrate the fall season with kids’ activities, arts and crafts, food, performances and a new favorite: the second annual the Fire on the Mountain Chili Challenge!
There will be plenty of great kids’ activities, including a performance by Santa’s Workshop characters and Pipsqueak the Clown, live musical performances, pumpkin painting and build your own scarecrow. Kids will be able to inspect local police, fire and town trucks that will be on site all day.
The event features numerous local artists, produce growers, bakers and homemade crafters, along with local food vendors. Live music will be performed by Johnny and the Triumphs from 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Fire on the Mountain Chili Challenge participants should deliver their chili for judging between 10 and 11 a.m.. Official judging will take place at 11:30 a.m., and “People’s Choice” public tasting will be available from noon till 3:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m.
