Moss Cliff

This cliff has some of the toughest climbs and shearest faces in the whole of the Adirondacks. Add in considerable bushwhacking, before and after the route, and we have ourselves a challenge.

Trailhead: East of Lake Placid on Route 86 going north, look for the sign that says Climber/Grimper and that will be the correct pullout. Walk upriver until it is shallow enough to cross.

Subject to periodic closures due to peregrine nesting seasons. Consult the DEC webpage, Adirondack Rock Climbing Route Closures, for the latest information.
