If you're a runner, cyclist, triathlete or just want to increase your fitness, cross country skiing in the Whiteface Region is a great way to cross-train and stay active this winter. For those looking for a more challenging route, head up the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway trail for some spectacular views atop the fifth-highest High Peak in the Adirondacks. Take in the Adirondack wildlife as you ski by frozen-over streams and snow-topped trees. Birders will especially enjoy navigating through the pristine woodlands, where hawks, eagles, owls and smaller birds make their winter home. You may even see Crossbills high in the trees along the trails.
Whether you prefer a groomed trail or fresh powder, there are several trails in the Whiteface Region to enjoy.
