You can’t get any closer
to year-round opportunities in the Adirondack great outdoors!
Summer
The Adirondacks owe their reputation as an outdoor recreational
paradise to their topography; a unique combination of high rocky
summits and endless waterways.
FISHING - Wilmington’s West Branch
of the Ausable offers six and a half miles of dedicated catch
and release waters - long known as one of North America’s
very best FLY FISHING
rivers.
HIKING and BIKING - Endless miles of Adirondack
backcountry trails welcome hikers of all abilities. Road cyclists
enjoy the spectacular views from quiet backcountry roads, or
the challenge of a real Ironman course. Mountain bikers can
tackle the extreme vertical slopes of Whiteface and the new
Flume trail system! (download

SWIMMING - After a day of adventure, families
gather at any of a number of great swimming holes, including
the beautiful sandy beach at Lake Everest, and several favorite
East Branch river spots, including the famous Flume pool and
the Jay Rocks by the historic covered bridge.
PADDLING - The Whiteface region offers flatwater
paddlers a cruise along eight miles of tranquil water as it
flows between densely wooded banks of the Ausable. For the whitewater
crowd, the East Branch offers great spring paddling with Class
II water and a tricky Class III boulder patch.
Winter
SKI and RIDE - Of course, world class skiing
and riding is CLOSE. In fact, you simply can’t get
any closer to the challenging alpine terrain at Whiteface Mountain.
SNOWSHOEING and XC SKIING - Whether it’s
an Adirondack High Peak or rolling fields, winter’s backcountry
landscape begs to be explored on snowshoes and cross-country
skis. In addition, opportunities abound for snowmobiling, ice
skating, ice fishing and ice climbing.
