In May of each year the Au Sable River Two-Fly Challenge is held on the West Branch Au Sable River in Wilmington, NY, home of Whiteface Mountain (upstate NY’s Adirondack’s).

The event began in 2000 to get fly fishermen together, enjoy a wonderful day on the river and raise funds to protect the fishery for future generations.

The Two-Fly challenge begins on a Friday evening with a “get together” fly tying demonstration, drinks and snacks. Saturday, participants spend up to 10 hours angling on the river using just two flies.

It is strictly a catch-and-release experience. The day concludes with a nice dinner, guest speaker, award ceremony and silent raffle.
