Esther
Mountain |
This mountain
is named for the fifteen year old girl who was the first to climb it in
1839, and the first ascent of an Adirondack High Peak credited to a woman,
at a time when this was only the eighth peak ascended. |

It is an
intriguing mountain with its own unique natural features including fir
waves (which only occur one other place in the world) and a fine glacier
cirque. |
